TONY COLOMBAT - Magazine Editor

My Paragliding career spanned just over 6 years, with approx. 400 hours in my log book. I flew an Ozone DHV2. My favourite site being Piedhrahita Spain with my most memorable flight, a 40k - 2nd XC at Larangue - France. Until 2001, I was a relatively selfish activity fiend, involved in; skiing, paragliding, windsurfing, mountain biking, road cycling, hill walking, and anything else that was human powered.

On Sunday 14th January 2001, on a Mountain Biking ride in the Lake District, disaster struck. I woke up from the accident with understanding consciousness 2 weeks later. I had broken my neck and suffered spinal injuries resulting in complete paralysis, although movement gradually returned over the 16 months I spent in Southport Spinal Centre. During my time in Preston and Southport Hospitals I will be forever grateful to those PSC members who were incredibly generous in time and support in visiting me. This is why I will continue to offer my services in editing the Pennine News, unless someone else wishes to take over.

My hobbies now include skiing, cycling, computing, reading and music.
