Many members of a certain age will remember Tony from the 1990’s when he was an active member of the Pennine Soaring Club, serving on the committee and publishing the newsletter for many years. Following a serious mountain biking crash which paralysed him from the neck down, he rebuilt a very different life – living independently, driving a highly adapted car and riding a recumbent 3-wheeler bike around his home town of Tyldesley.
Sadly, following a succession of other illnesses, he finally passed away on Monday 18th May after battling determinedly for over 25 years. Please watch this space for news of any funeral arrangements.
If you have any personal memories of him that you would like to share, please pass them on to me at safety@penninesoaringclub.org.uk
